It’s weird how you find out little nuggets of knowledge about yourself as you go about your daily (or nightly) routine. For instance, last night I found out that I was a fan of zombie movies. I kid you not! Who knew?
Last night one of the channels from the Movie Network was airing Land of the Dead and I watched the entire thing and was, wait for this, interested. I will admit that such films are better watched when not eating due to all the blood and gore but all in all, nothing that will haunt your dreams for weeks. I think what is best about zombie movies is that they are kind of “old school” and have stayed away from the present day horror trend of making villains out of everyday people. I mean, yes, zombies used to be people and all and I don’t want to get into a whole debate about “zombie rights” or anything but for the most part zombies are make believe monsters. That, I can deal with. You know, scary enough to get a little rise out of you but at least you can go to bed with the knowledge that they don’t really exist.
Personally, I find most of today’s horror a little too realistic and quite frankly, that scares the crap out of me. I don’t want to walk around thinking the person standing next to me is a corpse-mutilating psycho, who wants to think about the monsters that are real? I certainly do not – I need my beauty sleep.

Ah yes, Zombie Rights... Um, let me think about it a little more and then I can post a nice long essay on the subject. I know you're all quivering with antici...pation.
