Tales from the Pub

Yeah, so anyway I went out with my cousins on Saturday and it was a fun time. We started at a restaurant called Vivaldi's and afterwards went to McGibbons: WI in Pointe-Claire. I had a glass of wine with dinner and then started with a pint at the bar, which I nursed for a good hour and a half. (I was also talked into a shot by my cousin Cindy, something called "Liquid Cocaine". It was strong but it tasted like cinnamon so I survived.) I was pretty well behaved, afterall, I only chose weddings to cross over to the dark side, that's when I truly shine... Heh.
Any-hoo, here's a funny story: We were all sitting in the pub when I looked up and there was a sign for Galway which I announce to my cousin "Hey, that's where my father's family comes from!" and my cousin replies astonished "Your dad's family is from Ireland?" Um, yeah I told her and ask her where she thought Costello was from and she tells me "Oh, I thought you guys celebrated the Irish stuff because of your mom... I don't know, I thought your father was Dutch or something." So then I look at her, still kind of stunned that this girl that I've known for twenty-nine years doesn't know squat and asked her "Did we just meet or something?"
Ok maybe it's not funny to you but I thought it was amusing. Sometimes people you think you know as well as the back of your hand can surprise you.

That is funny. I'm guessing she's related on your mother's side to not know where you Dad's side comes from ...
