For the majority of people out there, the holiday season is a time for family and friends and all that cuddly stuff but for some of us the holidays are a time when we can watch the shows that fell into the background during the fall season. Obviously, there is only so much time in the evening after returning home from work so people like me (you know, without TiVo or that know how to record one show while watching another on Illico) have to choose which shows are worthy of our attention. For instance, since the midseason break that many shows take during the holidays I have stumbled onto a few new shows that are right up my alley.
The first is House, M.D. on Fox and you know, I had always kind of heard about it and thought that it might be something I might be interested in if I gave it a chance but something always got in the way of actually watching the show. I don't remember what it was right now but let me assure you that something was blocking me - anyhoo - I finally tuned in thanks to Fox trying to fill in the empty spots in the schedule and airing repeats PLUS the Mystery Channel also airs an episode every Sunday and I gotta tell you, the show is good. Real good, like a hot fudge sundae. Hugh Laurie, whom I have loved since he was Mr. Palmer in Sense and Sensibility, plays Dr. Gregory House and he's simply awesome in his, um, awesomeness. Check out the show, if you don't then you and I cannot possibly be friends anymore.
The second show is The Office on NBC and it has honest-to-goodness laugh out loud moments. It is a remake of the British series that sometimes airs on PBS so be warned if you're kind of snobby and can't possibly believe than an American remake of a British series could ever be any good then it will probably disappoint you - but not because it's of less quality or anything - you just kind of suck because you had your minds made up already, you know what I mean? It airs on Thursdays and because of Ugly Betty I have kind of always missed it and it's a shame because it really is a funny show (it's also paired with another great show 'My Name is Earl')

OMG, I am a die-hard House fan. Love, love, love it. Hugh Laurie is so sarcastic, he makes me laugh out loud at times.
