Well, I'm back.

Happy Toosday everyone.

Just thought I'd post after a long weekend.

You know, the weekend started off promising enough, Steffo came over after work and we had margharitas and some food that I made. Yes, that I made. If it's weird to read it, imagine how weird it is to write it?
Anyway, so I made Steffo a Greek salad and sesame pistachio encrusted pita chips (made by moi) with a feta peppercorn dip (also made by moi). Hey, you know what? In a effort to make this easier to write let me just state that I made everything this weekend. Nothing pre-made, just me, the kitchen and the ingredients. As you will eventually find out, it worked out so-so and no parentals were hurt in the making of the meal.
Right. So, where was I? Oh yes, ok so Steffo came over and ate and drank and cowered behind her hand while we watched War of the Worlds on TMN. I can't really make fun of her seeing as though I hid behind my trusty leopard print pillow for the majority of the movie. Ahem. Moving on...
After the movie I kicked Steffo out to make her way home and then I went to bed.

Saturday mornin'. Ahh, don't you love Saturdays?
Bell was supposed to connect my phone line so I went out and shopped for groceries (as a certain Scott who shall remain a nameless bitch) was supposed to call me to tell me if was coming over for a visit. I ended up going out three times to different shops but since everything is so close there's nothing to complain about. That is, until I got home and checked my phone and it still wasn't connected. I ranted internally for a while and then went to start chopping vegetables to work out some of my aggression. I suppose that worked because afterwards I was all Zen-like and in the zone and I didn't care whether or not Bell was screwing up, I was cool with the universe. However, as I walked towards my bathroom I happened to look down and saw that I hadn't plugged in the telephone to the outlet. Rassafrassa, mumble mumble, mumble...
When I plugged it in the telephone lit up and was ready and rearin' to go.
You know, I think I really have to work on my flakiness. It's getting out of control.

So, after I chilled out in a bath for about an hour I emerged pruny and ready to face the evening and the fact that I was being stood up by Stoopid Scott. I made myself some steamed veggies and baked a potato and settled in for a movie network premiere of "Must Love Dogs". 'Twas ok. During my viewing I decided to be more pro-active in getting my apartment the way I want it to look like so I changed into some sweatpants and started a-paintin' the bedroom hall way. I actually got a lot done because I figured out how to use the rollee thing without one of those store bought trays. I guess all I need is another coat on that hallways as well as an extender of sorts to get me up over that 5'3'' threshold and that will be a finished project. Sweet.

So finally Sunday arrived. Ah, last day of the weekend and it is always somewhat bittersweet.

Earlier in the week I invited the parentals over for dinner in the new place and seeing as though they were in town at LaRonde with my nieces they decided Sunday would be a good enough day as any. They stumbled in around 7pm after a full day of roller coasting and so on and were nice and exhausted. I made them baked salmon in brown sugar and molasses, wild rice, steamed snow peas and cauliflower. It looked yummy but I didn't have any as I didn't buy a piece of salmon big enough for us all so I had to put together a quick piece of chicken. Such was my downfall as I am not a real experienced chicken cooker. I got sick and ended up in bed all Monday with a stomach flu.
Good times.

First of all - sorry to hear about your bad chicken. That's one of those meats that has to be cooked properly.

Second - let's not forget to mention that you sent me home ALONE ON THE METRO after watching an exhausting 2 hours of stress filled movie. Plus, I missed the bus, so ended up walking to Vendome (faster than waiting for the next bus), had to wait forever for the orange line, and wait forever for the green line and then ended up walking home from my metro stop too. That's a lot of walking after you've just spent 2 hours with your heart beating, like, 200 beats a minute, or something. Luckily there were no aliens in the metro.

That you know of.
They're everywhere man, they just haven't told us yet.

Also, in my defence about letting you go home on the metro:
I said I would call to make sure you got home without getting attcjed by aliens but you said "No."
